Acid reflux

Q: My husband is 53 and for a few months now has been experiencing acid reflux with associated nausea and feeling unwell. Antacids help a little, but do not stop it completely. He has almost completely stopped drinking alcohol, but what other foods and drink should he avoid? He burps quite a lot and generally feels unwell. Could this be from stress? His GP performed some blood tests, but did not explain what these could show. Would seeing a gastroenterologist help? What could be wrong? Read Dr Margaret's answer to this and other questions
