Saga Services began in the early 1980s,
when we first started to market insurance and financial services
as part of a new company strategy to offer additional services
to our customers.
We realised that older people represented a lower risk in
many areas of insurance, however, this was not being reflected
in the premiums being offered by most insurers.
Saga negotiated with a number of leading underwriters to
provide products marketed exclusively to our customer base
and, following a period of extensive testing, Saga Services
was established in 1987 as our insurance arm.
Over the past 18 years we have expanded our range to offer
many different products. We subsequently introduced financial
services; Saga Investment Direct launched in 1996 offering
customers a range of savings and investment opportunities.
From 2004 we have underwriten all our motor, caravan and
motorhome insurance through Saga Insurance Company Limited.
Additional home services offered through Saga Services include
the Saga Telephone Service and the Saga Internet Service.
